‘Money, Monash and motive: the Sir John Monash Centre, Villers-Bretonneux (Immersion I of II)‘, Honest History, 7 July 2015
An analysis of the Department of Veterans’ Affairs submission to the Public Works Committee hearing on the Monash centre project. The article concludes that a key motivation for the project is to shift the focus of Australian Great War commemoration from Gallipoli to the Western Front, the site of Australian victories. A second article considers the DVA appearance before the PWC and there is a third article on PWC’s report on the project. Then, there is a note on the Senate Estimates consideration in October (look under sub-heading ‘Department of Veterans’ Affairs’).
