As well as honouring the friendship of the Timorese towards our soldiers in Timor during World War II, the webinar is an attempt to inject some perspective concerning another event of 19th February 1942, the bombing of Darwin.
24-25 February: Seminar to remember the life and work of Stuart Macintyre
This is face-to-face at the University of Melbourne (with covid protocols in place) or via Zoom. Details and registration arrangements here. The seminar ranges across many aspects of Professor Macintyre’s life and professional career and will hear contributions from his former colleagues and other distinguished speakers.
3 March: Online launch of Capitalism: New Histories from Australia, a special issue of Labour History journal
The editors are Hannah Forsyth (Australian Catholic University) and Sophie Loy-Wilson (University of Sydney). Professor Frank Bongiorno of ANU will do the launching honours.
