Review note: UK-based Gallipoli 100 has useful resources for schools

Review note: UK-based Gallipoli 100 has useful resources for schools‘, Honest History, 17 March 2016

Gallipoli 100 is based in the United Kingdom and has put together some useful resources related to … yes, Gallipoli. The site includes information about schools projects under way in the UK, Australia, Ireland and Turkey, as well as blog posts, information about Gallipoli then and now (videos) and about the Great War.

Honest History’s Peter Stanley is interviewed about Indians at Gallipoli, the militarisation of Australian history and how this plays out in schools, and whether Australia was born at Gallipoli. The material here nicely complements that found on other parts of the Honest History site, including our Teaching History section and our comments on how the Australian War Memorial presents war to children (try ‘children’ on our search engine).
