Primary school children and honest history

Aint Google amazing? In the week where HH had an interesting exchange with the education people at the Australian War Memorial on teaching children about war, Google turned up an article on a number of US blogs with the fascinating title, ‘At what age can we introduce children to honest history?’

Written by David Turnoy, an American primary school teacher and author of a recently published American history book, the article touches on a number of issues that have been exercising us and others. Our ‘Teaching children about war’ segment has been updated accordingly (scroll down to 23 October 2014) and you can find there also the coverage of the discussion with the AWM, plus our earlier material on this subject.
