295 Broinowski Long way from Adelaide Alison Broinowski explores connections between some Australian expatriates in China, some exotic figures from elsewhere and private schools in Adelaide and Sydney. ‘Tracing the networks between these individuals unveils some fascinating glimpses of international intellectual life around the turn of the twentieth century, showing that some Australians at least were connected to a wider world.’ Two notable figures mentioned are GE (‘Chinese’) Morrison and Frederick Rolfe (‘Baron Corvo’).
