‘10 charts that reveal Australian attitudes to violence against women‘, ABC News, 18 September 2014
Charts changes since 1995 in VicHealth’s poll of 17 500 people on the community’s knowledge, attitudes and responses to physical and other forms of violence, finding improvements since the first survey in 1995 but also some ‘concerning’ negative findings. Shows that violence takes other than physical forms, who commits violence, demographics and backgrounds, whether violence is ever excusable, why women stay, forms of control, victim blaming, attitudes to male dominance, seeking help.
