Lists and Random Strands new on our site

We have been looking at ways of making more accessible the wealth of resources found on our site under the menu headings Themes and Resources. We are introducing two new features.

First, we will regularly pluck out Random strands, bibliographical items from our Strands of Australian history sub-menu, which contains hundreds of items, either summaries (with links) of books or articles, or summaries with links to full text. Our first Random strand is about the love story of Nugget Coombs, public servant and activist, and Judith Wright, poet and, again, activist. Watch for these mentioned on our home page.

Secondly, we are following (soberly and with restraint) the internet-age fashion of ‘lists’. Honest History lists will be commonly-themed items from our Themes and Resources areas. The inaugural one has seven items about inequality. More to come regularly; keep an eye out in Latest posts on our home page or on our RSS feed.

Then, as previously mentioned, there are our Whizzbangs, which are fired every time we put out an E-Newsletter but which have then tended to lie buried in our Newsletter archive. We have collected some Choice Whizzbangs and will add to the pile monthly.

Finally, if you need to know more about how the site is organised, go to this informative note.
