The 1919 influenza pandemic had effects at least as profound as the Great War that preceded it. The City of Sydney and the Royal Australian Historical Society are running a symposium ‘Flu frenzy: Taming the 1919 Influenza Pandemic’ on Saturday, 16 February, to mark the centenary of the pandemic.
Details are here, with a link to booking arrangements and further details. Speakers include Laila Elmoos, Peter Hobbins, Chrys Meader, and Lisa Murray. Cost is $10 or $15.
