Some readers will have missed – and others will have been following assiduously – the work of the Senate Legal and Constitutional Affairs Committee on its Inquiry into nationhood, national identity and democracy. The Committee is chaired by Victorian Labor Senator, Kim Carr, and it put out a discussion paper.
Submissions to the Inquiry closed on 30 September and, among the 43 received, there were submissions from Clare Wright, Greg Melleuish, Martin Crotty, Benjamin Jones, the History Council of Western Australia, the Institute of Public Affairs, Salvatore Babones, Kim Rubinstein and Frank Brennan.
