Enshrining the Voice in the Constitution is the prerequisite to Closing the Gaps in so many areas of Australian society today, including the Commemoration Gap, where we devote repetitive and minute attention to commemorating the deaths of 100,000 uniformed Australians in overseas wars but have struggled for more than 200 years to own and properly acknowledge and commemorate the deaths of perhaps 100,000 Indigenous Australians in the Frontier Wars from 1788 to at least 1928. More on this: honesthistory.net.au ; home page under the heading ‘Frontier Wars retreat at the War Memorial’.
