Battlefields of the Raj tour with Professor Peter Stanley

As followers of his work will know, Honest History’s Past President, Professor Peter Stanley of UNSW Canberra, is an authority on, among other things, the military history of British India. Later in 2018 he is leading a UNSW Canberra Study Tour to India, looking especially at the military history of the Raj.

The two-week tour will encompass sites relating to India’s military history, starting in Kolkata and travelling to Lucknow, Cawnpore, Agra, Delhi, Shimla and Mumbai. Peter will take the group to sites such as the Victoria memorial, the Residency (Lucknow), the Ridge at Delhi, the mall at Shimla and, of course, the Taj Mahal, and to a host of cantonments, churches, cemeteries and memorials.

The tour, which leaves Australia on 27 October, is being organised by Anywhere Travel. Please contact Peter at p.stanley@adfa.edu.au for further details. More on this pdf.
