Honest History is pleased to mark two important stages in a project it has been following for more than two years, 100 Stories, wrangled from Monash University by Professor Bruce Scates and his team. First, from 12 October, an online course will offer a virtual tour of World War 1 battlefields and show ‘how the Great War changed us all’. The course, presented by a number of historians, will teach participants how to use digital resources to follow the stories of soldiers, including Indigenous soldiers, and their families.
Secondly, on 11 November in Melbourne, Professor Jay Winter will give a public lecture ‘Remembering and forgetting war’ and the book World War One: a History in 100 Stories will be launched. There are more details of both events here, including RSVP arrangements.
