Steve Flora

Steve Flora was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky, on a hill beside the remains of a Civil War fort and in the midst of the Korean ‘police action’ (1951).  After obtaining a degree from Western Kentucky University (history and ‘mass communications’) he served four years as a radioman in the United States Coast Guard (during a relatively unadventurous period for the US military, 1976-80) followed by a State Department career. Now happily calling Canberra home (since 2000) he keeps occupied with genealogical, historical and current affairs interests, attempting to make personal sense of past and unfolding British, American, Australian and world history.
