‘Nelson defends modernising memorial‘, Canberra Times, 6 April 2013
Australian War Memorial Director, Brendan Nelson, defended recent changes at the Memorial, noting that ‘keeping the younger generation engaged with history was key’. He described the Memorial’s overall mission as ‘to pass this on to the next generation’. He said also that the Anzac Day parade was for the veterans of contemporary as much as past conflicts.
