‘Indigenous war service: two exhibitions at the National Archives of Australia’, Honest History, 2 May 2017
A review of two exhibitions, Indigenous Australians at War from the Boer War to the Present (touring from the Shrine of Remembrance, Melbourne) and Facing Two Fronts: the Fight for Respect, also focusing on Indigenous uniformed service. The article also includes a summary of recent efforts by national cultural institutions to chronicle the many aspects of a nation at war, including Indigenous service. It can be read in conjunction with our recent review of the For Country, for Nation exhibition at the Australian War Memorial.
