Since 1987, 47 composers have been commissioned to write for the nation’s leading chamber music ensemble. and 41 of them were men. The Bendigo exploratory music festival in 2015 had only ten women out of 63. Women’s music in 2013 was only 11 per cent of the works being performed at new music concerts.  The article looks at reasons and remedies and links to some other material.
