Honest History-Manning Clark House lecture series 2014: Archived

Honest History is collaborating with Manning Clark House, Canberra, to hold a series of eight lectures on the honest history theme. The lectures are on Monday evenings at 5.30 pm for 6.00 pm (cost and details below). The first lecture was on 24 March with Norman Abjorensen of ANU on prime ministerial exits (related material in this interview), followed on 26 May with Kerry Neale (UNSW/ADFA and Australian War Memorial) on the medical and political treatment of facial injuries in World War I, on 16 June with Frank Bongiorno (ANU) on Labour and Anzac, on 21 July with Amanda Laugesen (ANU and Australian National Dictionary) on Language, Australian soldiers and the First World War, on 18 August with Pamela Burton (independent scholar) on John Burton: undermined by dishonest history and on 22 September with Angela Woollacott (ANU) on responsible government and frontier wars in the nineteenth century. Our final two lecturers were Karen Fox (ANUĀ and Australian Dictionary of Biography) on aspects of the honours system (27 October) and Peter Stanley (UNSW/ADFA) on his current project on the Armenian genocide of 1915 (10 November).
