Paul Daley

The Anzac skull that tells a shocking and tragic story of battlefield violence‘, Guardian Australia, 25 September 2017 updated

Story of an Anzac soldier’s skull exhibited in an American medical museum’s online exhibition. The soldier was shot near Ypres on 28 September 1917 and died a few days later. What, if anything, the Australian government does to repatriate the skull will make for an interesting comparison with what has been done – and not done – to repatriate to Country Indigenous remains held by institutions in Australia and overseas.
